GR86 hakone edition

Toyota GR86 Hakone Edition

Toyota is set to relaunch the GR86 Hakone Special Edition as a tribute to the Hakone Turnpike road near Tokyo.
Only 860 units will be produced for the US market. I don’t know if Shiva will arrive in the fall of 2024.

This great edition of the Toyota GR86 Hakone will leave a lasting impression thanks to its Ridge Green exterior color. The GR86 Hakone is made in a premium grade. There will be a 6-speed manual transmission option, and it will be powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine producing 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

Toyota will bring a limited number of GR86 Hakone editions to the market, but it’s also big news for customers. With the purchase of a Toyota GR86 Hakone Edition, the honored customer will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA).

What’s in the GR86 Hakone Edition :

The GR86 Hakone stands out for its special dark green emerald color. It features 17-inch bronze wheels that contrast nicely (equipped with standard Michelin all-season tires). Inside, there’s an all-center buster update with tan seats, a matching dash, and interior trim. Additionally, it comes with special badging, premium LED lights, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and keyless entry — voila!

The electric power steering has been returned for more responsive handling and an improved feeling of direct contact with the road. The GR86 Hakone Special Edition comes standard with SACHS dampers and Brembo brakes. The SACHS dampers are high-pressure, nitrogen- and oil-filled, designed to absorb vibrations over a wide range of speeds. The GR86 also features a standard integrated frame.

Engine :

The GR86 Hakone is one of the lightest sports cars on the market.

All GR86 models are a complete package, equipped with modern engineering, technology, and convenience.

The GR86 weighs just 2,811 pounds for the manual transmission-equipped base-grade model and 2,851 pounds for the automatic version. The GR86’s aluminum front fenders and roof panels help reduce its weight. The interior seats are 6 pounds lighter than those in the previous generation 86. The torque is tuned so that peak torque is reached at 3,700 RPM, delivering a highly responsive and powerful driving experience. Along with the transmission, the GR86 uses a Torsen limited-slip rear differential to increase traction when cornering.

Inside, the GR86 features a low-slung, driver-centric cockpit with a digital instrument panel, HVAC system with push-button start, LED dials, piano key switches, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated controls. There is also an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with a 6-speaker audio system.

The seats are trimmed in premium-grade ultrasuede and leather with black stitching. The front seats are six-way adjustable with two-level heating. The rear seats feature premium ultrasuede trim.

Safety :

The GR86 features Toyota’s Star Safety System. The GR86 Hakone has recalibrated dampers and power-assisted steering for 2025 to improve safety, handling response, and ground contact feel. The GR86 also has revised throttle mapping to make blipping or heel-toe downshifts easier.

This model is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA). It also includes Track Mode, Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).

For safety, the GR86 comes with a total of seven airbags, including knee airbags. Additional safety features include LATCH (Lower Anchor and Tether for Children) with outboard rear seat lower anchors and tether anchors on all rear seats, as well as a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Technology :

The Toyota GR86 Hakone model utilizes technology perfectly. This model comes standard with an active safety suite.

The suite for automatic transmission models includes a pre-collision braking system, pre-collision throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lead vehicle start alert, lane departure warning with sway warning, and automatic high beams.

Manual transmission models include rear sonar warning, a pre-collision braking system, adaptive cruise control, lead vehicle start alert, lane departure warning, and sway warning.

There is also an anti-theft system with an immobilizer and alarm.

It also features an emergency help button and a remote connect one-year trial, through which your smartwatch can remotely communicate with your car to lock or unlock the doors, start or stop the car, locate your car’s last parking spot, check car status, and monitor guest drivers.

Complementary Membership :

Toyota GR86 Hakone is set to bring its mind-blowing Ridge Green color car to the market in 2025 as a limited edition. Although it comes in a few editions, it has great news for its customers. With the purchase of any of these edition cars, valued customers will receive a one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). GR86 owners will enjoy several benefits, including a free High-Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and discounted admission to NASA-sanctioned events.

Warranty :

The Toyota GR86 Hakone model offers a 36-month or 36,000-mile warranty on basic new vehicles, excluding normal wear and maintenance items. A 60-month warranty covers the powertrain for 60,000 miles with no mileage limitations. Toyota Care will provide normal factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years with unlimited mileage.

Last Word :

Toyota will introduce the GR86 Hakone Special Edition for 2025, with only 860 units being produced for the US market. The GR86 will be best known for its Ridge Green exterior color and will be made in premium grade. The car owner will receive a one-year complimentary membership to NASA. As much as the GR86 will be famous for its beauty and color, it is also going to be Toyota’s great re-edition, offering special benefits in safety, technology, warranty, and Toyota Care.

The Toyota GR86 Hakone will be available at dealerships in late fall 2024.
