The Chevrolet Trailblazer is a subcompact crossover with big SUV power. The main advantages of choosing the Trailblazer are the option of a more powerful 155-hp three-cylinder engine, available all-wheel drive, and underbody skid plates.
This equipment makes the Trailblazer a better option for light off-roading.
What’s New for 2025
The Chevrolet Trailblazer 2024 received a design refresh and minor updates. For 2025, a Marina Blue Metallic color has been added, and other color options have been updated. Mechanically, the standard engine has been calibrated and fitted with hardened cylinder head valve seats to make it E-85 compatible. Otherwise, the Trailblazer remains unchanged from 2024.
Infotainment
The Chevrolet Trailblazer’s driver gets an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster, while a sizeable 11.0-inch touchscreen anchors the center of the instrument panel. A six-speaker stereo system is standard, while a Bose seven-speaker stereo is available as part of the Adaptive Cruise and Sound package on Active and RS models. One USB-A and one USB-C port are standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, as is a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Engine and Performance
The Chevrolet Trailblazer comes with one of two turbocharged three-cylinder engines. The standard turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder generates 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT). A turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine is optional, producing 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Starting in 2024, the engine was upgraded with a different gearbox and greater refinement. With the more powerful 1.3-liter engine, the Trailblazer is able to reach 60 mph in a relaxed 9.4 seconds. The 9-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine in its sweet spot during acceleration. The Trailblazer is surprisingly adept at getting around in day-to-day traffic.
Comfort
The Chevrolet Trailblazer exhibits excellent ride comfort. It offers a smooth ride for a small SUV, especially at high speeds. The front seats remain comfortable and supportive. While you may feel some jostling when driving on rough roads, the Trailblazer never crashes into potholes or feels too stiff.
Interior
The Trailblazer offers a nice balance between analog and digital controls, making everything easy to figure out at first glance. It’s simple to open the door and step in. The seats are positioned high, similar to those in a larger SUV. While the interior is primarily trimmed in black plastic, it doesn’t feel tacky.
There is more than enough room for two adults to sit comfortably. You can fit six carry-on suitcases behind the rear seats. With the optional panoramic sunroof, headroom is more than adequate for most passengers.
Safety
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is equipped with a set of basic driver-assistance technologies, with more advanced features, such as adaptive cruise control, available as options.
Standard: Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
Available: Adaptive cruise control
Standard: Lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist
Additional Features: Automatic climate control and an auto-dimming rearview mirror
Warranty
The Chevrolet Trailblazer’s standard warranty coverage is unremarkably average:
Limited Warranty: Covers 3 years or 36,000 miles
Powertrain Warranty: Covers 5 years or 60,000 miles
Complimentary Maintenance: Covered for the first visit

2025 HYUNDAI KONA
The 2025 Hyundai Kona is a small, budget-friendly sports utility vehicle. All-wheel drive is available on all models. The Hyundai Kona comes equipped with impressive technology, including a new digital key feature that allows you to unlock and drive your car using your smartphone.
It is available with a 190-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.
The entire model was redesigned in 2024, but the 2025 model has undergone minimal changes since then.
Hyundai also offers a battery-powered Kona Electric.
What’s New in 2025
The 2025 Kona can be considered the second generation of the 2024 model. After a thorough redesign in 2024, only minimal changes have been made for 2025. A new N Line S trim has been added, along with updates to other features, including a more premium audio system, adaptive cruise control, and a sunroof. The SEL trim with the Convenience Package is now a standalone trim, logically called SEL Convenience.
Infotainment
The Hyundai Kona features dual 12.3-inch displays, seamlessly integrated behind one continuous piece of glass that dominates the dashboard. This setup includes a reconfigurable gauge display and a large touchscreen for the infotainment system. A USB-A and USB-C port come standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless smartphone charging pad, adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature, and much more.
Engine and Performance
The Kona offers all-wheel drive on all trims. Two four-cylinder engine options are available. The entry-level powertrain is a 147-hp 2.0-liter engine paired with a continuously variable transmission. An upgraded turbocharged 190-hp 1.6-liter engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, is optional and produces 195 lb-ft of torque. The Kona accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and performs well in emergency braking.
Comfort
The Kona’s interior is fairly spacious, though the rear seats may not be ideal for adults. The black leather seats add to the car’s overall appeal. Inside, a widescreen display enhances the infotainment experience. The car features a power-adjustable driver’s seat, though it feels a bit flat and lacks sufficient support for long drives.
Interior
The Kona’s interior is adequately roomy for a vehicle of its size, with a design that feels handsomely futuristic. It also functions like a larger SUV, offering impressive practicality. The second row can accommodate seven carry-on-size boxes, and with the rear seats folded down, it can hold up to 20 boxes. Inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a separate 12.3-inch digital gauge display, heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad, adaptive cruise control, and onboard Wi-Fi.
Safety
The Hyundai Kona comes equipped with an array of safety features, including:
Automated emergency braking
Blind-spot monitoring
Self-parking
Driver monitoring
Lane departure warning
Lane-keeping assist
Available adaptive cruise control
For more information, please refer to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Warranty
The Hyundai Kona’s standard warranty coverage is average, but its powertrain warranty stands out as one of the best in its class:
Limited warranty: Covers 5 years or 60,000 miles
Powertrain warranty: Covers 10 years or 100,000 miles
Complimentary maintenance: Covers 3 years or 36,000 miles
